Joyetech eVic Basic Vape Review

The eVic Basic greets users with an RTC (Real Time Clock) display that shows time, wattage, and coil resistances. This display pairs especially nicely on the black version of the eVic, appearing nearly seamless with the mod body.

The eVic also features two sets of battery protection circuit systems. Simply put, it guards you better from all the incidents that can happen when charging the battery.

Joytech eVic Basic Vape Mod Specs

  • Non-removable battery rated at 1500mAh
  • Adjustable wattage (up to 40W) and temperature control
  • Large OLED screen
  • Firmware upgradeable
  • Real Time Clock (Analog and digital styles)
  • Dual Circuit Protection

The eVic Basic comes with the larger capacity battery than its mini-mod peers. The 1500mAh battery will supply power to your atomizer for a whole day of average vaping. For vapers who want to experience the power of their fully charged batteries, the eVic has a nifty bypass mode that allows you vape as though you are using a mechanical device. Bypass mode will give you the capability to go higher than the 40W limit, just in case you need to. For vapers that make their own sub-ohm coils, the eVic has the ability to fire coils as low as 0.1-ohm. For temperature mode, the coil resistance range is 0.05 – to 1.5-ohm.

Another cool feature on the mod is the OLED clock screen when the device is on standby. The display has a very clean look, and gives the device that gadget feel. Firmware updates are quite easy to do with the included mini USB cable, just simply plug the eVic basic to your computer. You can even put your own custom logo on your mod.

Safety

Safety is always a big concern from vapers that have heard of the horror stories from exploding mods because of improper and irresponsible use of batteries. Joyetech has included several safety features to your basic mod for your peace of mind while vaping or while carrying this unit inside your pocket.

Dual circuit protection doubles the safety of the eVic battery over regular mods. This feature protects your mod from over-charging, over-current and over-discharge.

A Dynamic Duo: Using the eVic Basic with the Cubic Pro Mini

The Joyetech eVic basic pairs exceptionally well with the Cubic Pro Mini atomizer, which securely fits to the top of the mod. The Cubic Pro Mini allows users to easily fill the vaporizer’s e-juice container with up to 2 ml of juice at a time. The atomizer also utilizes an “Innovative Leak Resistant Cup Design” to ensure that the liquid stays where it is supposed to while transporting and during use.

This vape mod is a competitor because of its tiny size. The iStick Pico Baby has an LED display indicating battery life, instead of the Joyetech’s advanced screen, and is also less powerful and has a shorter warranty. However, it does come in more fun colors, and is slightly cheaper.

50W Artery Nugget TC Box Mod

The Nugget TC Box Mod has a sleek design and a slightly more powerful wattage than the Joyetech eVic, making it a top competitor. Its battery lasts a bit shorter than that of the eVic Basic, however they are in a similar price range.

Verdict

As expected from Joyetech, the eVic Basic is manufactured at very high standards. No rattles, no gaps, and everything feels very well made.

It is really everything that the average vaper wants out of a mod: portable, easy to use, attractive, and reliable. It falls right into your mod collection – no matter if you are a newbie or a veteran vaper, the eVic basic fits your needs. If you are eyeing a new purchase, the eVic Basic will not disappoint you.

JOYETECH CUBOID TAP VAPE KIT REVIEW – TAP DANCE

Most of you might think that the market has no more room for another touch based mod; you could be right. But on the other hand here we have the Cuboid Tap & ProCore Aries kit by Joyetech trying to make waves amongst its numerous touch brethren. Unlike other touch screen mods which incorporate a resistive or capacitive touch screen to navigate menus and change settings, the Tap adopts a pressure sensitive system activated by gripping the device in hand. Although it may sound gimmicky at first, using this feature is surprisingly intuitive thanks to the haptic feedback the Tap provides.

Product Pros

  • Gigantic and informative OLED display
  • Haptic feedback feels satisfying

Product Cons

  • Can be prone to misfires if stored improperly

Joyetech Cuboid Tap Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Upon looking at the available color options for the Cuboid Tap is where majority of users will be split into two camps. Joyetech offers the device in silver/wood, black/carbon fiber, red, yellow, and blue. While I cant say I’m a fan of the red, yellow, and blue, the silver and black variants are quite great to look at. Another advantage is the Taps paint job is protected by a durable and high gloss coating, protecting the paint job from everyday wear and tear and chipping.

The device feels solid and great to hold in hand. Although compact, the Tap sports one of the largest OLED screens I’ve experienced in any device. I consider it quite a feat that Joyetech was able to cram in all these features into such a compact and ergonomic mod.

Now lets not forget that this is a touch based device, how does this feature compare to others of the same kin? My simple answer is “not bad, not bad at all” The Taptec technology as Joyetech calls it, works surprisingly well and quite intuitive to use especially when compared with other touch mods.

The mod fires when gripping both sides and tapping the touch pad located above the screen. Holding the device this way is comfortable and does not feel finicky at all. Unfortunately this does not bode well for users who tend to forget to lock their devices before storing them in their bags or pockets.

The touch buttons are pressure sensitive and not capacitive which means they can potentially fire given the right amount of applied pressure on all sides of the device. Of course given proper handling of the mod is followed, we can disregard this as a con. The Tap also sports a satisfying clicky physical firing button and its great to see a manufacturer giving us options on how we want to use the mod.

Vapor Quality

Ah yes, the vapor. It would be all for nothing if Joyetech made a solid device like the Tap but paired with a lackluster tank. Fortunately that isnt the case with the bundled ProCore Aries. Vapor is dense and flavorful, especially when powered by the Taps dual 18650 configuration.

Joyetech hit it out of the park when designing the Aries, looking at the top fill mechanism of the tank it is one of the easiest units to open, fill up, and seal. It’s designed in such a way that opening the top cap can be done with hand which is a godsend compared to other tanks in the market.

The Aries supports prebuilt coil heads and is bundled with a 0.15ohm and a 0.4ohm coil head out of the box and are easy to replace. Both coil heads vape exceedingly well especially when comparing to the performance of other kit bundles.

Airflow is adjustable to suit every users needs from a restricted hit to a wide open configuration. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with an rebuildable coil head, so those who prefer wrapping their own coils should take that into consideration.

Nevertheless, vaping on this tank has been more than satisfying, and I consider it to be one of the best bundled tanks to come in a kit in a long time.

Versatility

I dont think any kind of vaper will feel left out when looking at the wide feature set of the Cuboid Tap. Want an intuitive touch interface? No problem. Want a physical fire button instead. It has that too. The device also supports the standard gamut of vaping modes from wattage, bypass/mechanical, and temperature control for nickel, titanium, and stainless steel.

Speaking of temperature control, advanced vapers will be happy to see that the Tap can store up to 3 different presets in its memory. This is great for saving different  adjustable TCR values for different coil heads or atomizers. Although if you’re a beginner you can totally ignore this feature and go straight to vaping on wattage mode.

Getting used to navigating the menus and exploring the features might be a new learning experience for most users. But I would be hard pressed to describe it as difficult or complicated thanks to detailed instructions listed on the included manual.

Portability

Although not as lightweight or compact as other dual 18650 mods, the Tap is definitely not considered heavy or large.

In fact it feels just right.  It fits perfectly in your hand, or even ones pockets.

Joyetech seems to have taken this into consideration when designing this device and managed to cram such a well featured vape into this solid frame.

Conclusion

To be 100% honest here, I never really was a fan of using touch screens on mods. But Joyetech is slowly redefining how touch technology is being used in our vapes, and upon experiencing their implementation manifested in the Cuboid Tap, one cant help but take a liking to this device.

If you want something that is solidly built, with a variety of design options, is a dual battery mod, ergonomic, and has a huge informative screen, This mod is a solid recommendation.

Joyetech CuAIO D22 Vape Pen Review

Today we’ll be reviewing the Joyetech CuAIO D22. For the most part, that seemingly complicated name is just telling you what you’ll be getting. The AIO part lets you know that this is an all-in-one device. The D22 just tells you that the diameter is 22mm. A little on the nose in my opinion, but all that matters is whether or not this is a good vape. Let’s find that out now

Review: Joyetech CuAIO D22

Joyetech CuAIO D22 Review
Manufacturing Quality

The manufacturing quality for the CuAIO D22 is good. The actual build quality, which I would consider to be anything related to the machining and materials, is excellent. It looks good, feels good, and seems durable.

The other thing I consider when looking at the overall manufacturing quality of a unit is the design. Starter kits like this tend to be very limited in features, but this is actually better than most.

There are two big things that you aren’t going to get with this. The first is power flexibility. There’s just one button and no way to adjust the voltage or wattage. The other thing you can’t do with this is change the battery. The one in this is built in and rated at 1500mAh.
Joyetech CuAIO D22 Color Selection

On the plus side, the tank on the this has adjustable airflow. I’ve seen so many starter kits not have this and it just doesn’t make any sense. I’m glad to see that Joyetech designed this to accommodate different vaping styles. Related to that, there are also multiple coils that can be used with this.

Focus On www.urvapin.com For More Vape Start Kit.

Flavor Quality

The flavor and vapor production is good, but I do have some notes that may help you get better performance. Like I mentioned above, there are four different coils that can be used with the CuAIO. Unfortunately, only one type of coil is included with kit, although you do get two of them.

The one that you get has a 0.6ohm resistance. According to Joyetech, it is designed for mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping. If you aren’t familiar with this, it is the style of vaping that most similarly mimics smoking. The alternative is a direct lung (DL) hit, which can be pretty harsh for people who are just making the switch.

So most people are going to want to start vaping MTL. That would suggest that they made a good choice on coil, right? Not so fast. I think this coil does better as a slightly restricted direct lung draw. It seems a bit overpowered for a MTL, especially for someone new to vaping.

joyetech-cuaio-d22-main2

There are two other coils in this series (ProC-BF) that are designed for MTL vaping, one rated at 1.0ohm and one at 1.5ohm. My guess is that these would be better, but I can’t actually find anywhere that has them in stock. If you are more experienced and just want something portable for certain occasions, you may want the coil designed for DL hits, which is rated at 0.5ohm

Power Flexibility

There is no power flexibility with the CuAIO at all. You can’t change the temperature, wattage, or voltage. The only thing that will change the power output is the resistance of the atomizer and the charge of the battery.

Like I mentioned before, this is pretty standard for starter kits. It would be nice to see something even as simple as a dial to adjust the voltage, but for some reason most manufacturers don’t offer this in kits like this.

Ease of Use

This is extremely easy to use. That’s the plus side of not getting a bunch of flexibility. If there aren’t any settings to adjust, all you really have to do is turn it on and fire away. In this case, you click the button five times to turn it on or off, and clicking and holding the button when it is on will make it fire.

Don’t be frustrated the first time you go to fill the tank if you can’t get it open. This has a childproof top, but as soon as you open it once, it’s incredibly easy to do again. The tank fills from the top for convenience, and changing the coils is about as easy as it gets

Portability

The portability is also great. The height is just 93mm, meaning it’s less than four inches tall! It’s also less than an inch wide, so you shouldn’t have any trouble at all carrying this in your pocket or a bag. I didn’t have any trouble with leakage either.

The one downside is the battery. If you vape a lot, this may only last you 4-6 hours on a single charge. Since you can’t put new batteries in, you’re stuck having to charge it as soon as it runs out. That still makes it a good choice for a day hike or a night out on the town, but it may not be good for overnight adventures where you won’t have access to power.

Overall Experience

I think that the Joyetech CuAIO D22 is a good starter kit.

I personally would have rather seen different coils, but you may feel completely differently. If it were up to me, I would have put one 0.5ohm DL coil and one 1.0ohm MTL coil in so that beginners had some room to play with. You may try the included coils and love them, who knows?

While there are obviously limitations to this, I can still see this being a good vape for some people, especially for the money. If you are new to vaping or want something portable to complement your normal lineup of mods, this could be a great buy.

Joyetech EKEE Starter Kit Review

I am glad to welcome you again dear vapers and vapers on our portal. Today I invite you to take a look at the next starter kit from one of the most popular manufacturers of vaping devices called Joyetech. Engineers of the company have always wanted to stand out from other manufacturers and presented, let’s say, innovative models, then they added touch screens, then something radically changed in functionality and design. Today, looking at the new EKEE starter kitone can say that this time they wanted to provide an original product that should soon win the hearts of the company’s fans. I don’t know if this will work out or not, for now I’ll just suggest that you get to know this device better, and you’ll make your own conclusions for yourself, and evaluate its chances of existence with a huge number of competitors.

EKEE box-mode with a power of 80 watts and complete ProCore Motor from the company Joyetech

The device comes to the user in a standard cardboard box on the lid of which you will see an image of the starter kit itself in the kit, there are inscriptions on the sides that remind us of the model name and the manufacturer, on the back are the main technical characteristics and features of the device. Inside the box, besides the device itself, waste paper and spare parts, there is also a cord for recharging and flashing the device.

EKEE box-mode with a power of 80 watts and complete ProCore Motor from the company Joyetech

EKEE box-mode with a power of 80 watts and complete ProCore Motor from the company Joyetech

That’s what has always distinguished the company’s designers – this is innovation in the design of devices. If the complete atomizer is nothing special, then the box mod looks fashionable, modern and fresh. Designed outside the box, such a non-standard format factor, you can see from the pictures that the device should fit well in the palm of your hand and all the buttons are located most conveniently, the informative display is on one of the side faces (1.3 inch OLED) . The screen is colored and all information is very conveniently read during the operation of the device. The box mod is available in bright colors, there are combinations of black and blue, black and yellow, black and green, black and red, black and silver and other colors. Modern stylish and fashionable. Atomizer is located in the middle of the box-mod.

As for performance, everything is not as smooth as with design. Firstly, the output power that the device can boast of is an honest 80 watt, maybe for some it will be enough, but it happened in modern waping that everyone is chasing maximum watts, sometimes even choosing a device with 200 or 300 Watt, but do not use in the process even those 80 that are in EKEE. Secondly, autonomy, inside the case there is a battery for 2000 mAh, with a complete atomizer atomizer which is designed for 60-80 watts of such a reserve, there is hardly enough for a day of moderate soaring.

Oumier Wasp Nano RDA Review

Oumier Wasp Nano RDA Review

I have never heard of Oumier as a brand or manufacturer of vaping products until now. Upon doing some research, I found that they have been making vape products since 2016 and have a wide variety of them to choose from – mainly being atomizers. Their latest offering is called the Wasp Nano RDA, which is a tiny 22mm single coil RDA marketed for flavor.

What’s in the box?

  • 1x Wasp Nano RDA
  • 1x Squonk Pin
  • 1x Allen Key
  • 2x Spare Grub Nuts
  • 2x Spare O-Rings
  • 1x Organic Cotton

Oumier Wasp Nano RDA Review

Out of the box

The black box is quite small and sports a logo of a wasp on the front, in yellow, along with the words WASP NANO RDA. The box has a foam insert which does a good job of keeping everything safe and secure whilst in transit. Underneath the foam sits the spares bag containing an Allen key, spare grub nuts, spare o-rings and some cotton. Upon removing the Wasp from it’s resting place, I was impressed with how small and compact it was.

It sure is a nano-sized RDA and it looks quite smart. My initial thoughts were that this is going to be a great little atty for stealth vaping and mini mods. Both for the size of it and also the fact that it is single coil, which should maximize battery life on those mini mods that don’t have heaps of mAh.

The Wasp Nano RDA is available in both gold and silver finishes, with the top cap the same color on each. The top cap is a translucent orange kind of color and is made from PEI, which is a recent addition to the vaping industry as we are starting to see it used on new products more and more. This sparked me to do some research into PEI as well. The ULTEM Resin family of amorphous thermoplastic polyetherimide (PEI) resins offers outstanding elevated thermal resistance, high strength and stiffness, and broad chemical resistance. So there you go!

The top cap is quite small, which I presume will add to the flavor abilities of this RDA and also the dome shape has proven to aid in this area too. I’m excited to give this a shot.

The Wasp breaks down into just two pieces, which makes things very convenient. After removing the top cap, which is super easy due to perfect tolerances on the o-rings, you are presented with a gold-plated build deck. There are two post clamps which utilize grub nuts as post screws that need to be adjusted with an Allen key. I personally am not a fan of Allen key post screws, however, this is definitely a subjective con that others may not see. The deck is similar to a Hadaly, however, the posts are a lot wider and take up more of the chamber.

Oumier Wasp Nano RDA Review

The side airflow mechanism comes through to the coil via large gaps in the posts, which I think is pretty smart and they are certainly wider than the gaps on the Hadaly RDAs. The airflow is adjusted by turning the top cap and it can be fully blocked off for transport if you are worried about leakage, which is a definite con in my book.

To expand the usability of the Wasp RDA, it also comes with a replaceable squonk pin. This screws into base and enables it to function with a bottom feeding mod, taking away the need to drip manually. Kudos on including this in the kit.

The build quality, for such a cheap authentic RDA, is top notch. There are no sharp or jagged sections and as I mentioned earlier the tolerances on the o-rings are perfect. There was no smell of machine oil, however, I gave it a quick bath before installing my coil and wick. The gold plating seems to be of high quality as there was no flaky parts or sections that came off during my inspection. Hopefully, that holds up over the usage of the atty.

Focus On www.ave40.com For More Vape Tank.

Usage

Once the top cap is off, the deck is exposed for building purposes. Installing the single coil couldn’t be simpler on the Wasp RDA. The post holes are designed to hold a wider coil, however, a narrower coil can be accommodated by adjusting the legs slightly. Once the Allen key post screws are backed out slightly, you can trap the wire underneath each one. There is a kind of angle to the bottom the posts, so the wire gets guided into where needs to rest with ease once you turn the screws back in.

This means that you can fit both narrow and wide gauge wire without any fitment issues. It’s almost as if it does the work for you, with guiding the wire into the right place. Although you could probably squeeze a 3.5mm coil in, I would recommend that you would fit a 3mm in there comfortably. Width is no issue, so you could almost run a smaller diameter coil with more wraps if you so desired.

Wicking is delightfully easy given the wide posts act as a guide for your wick to follow. I simply cut my wicks to the base of the deck, fluffed them up and tucked them in neatly to avoid any touching the top cap. There is no need to overthink it, it’s as simple as it sounds!

Oumier Wasp Nano RDA Review

The airflow is adjusted by rotating the top cap and there is little resistance whilst turning so it’s super simple. The airflow hits the coils from the side, through the entry holes in the posts. If you want to block off the airflow completely for transport or pocketing your device, you do so by turning the top cap so the airflow is shut off by the posts. You can only block it off one way, anti clockwise, as the other way you will have the screw mechanism showing and it won’t be fully choked off. I doubt you would get much spillage anyway unless you dripped a tonne of juice in there without vaping it.

I’m super happy to say that you can drip down the top of the Wasp RDA, which is my preferred way of dripping. I admit that I’m a lazy RDA vaper and do not enjoy having the take the top cap off all the time to drip or paint my wick. There is plenty of room and you can visualize how much liquid you are dripping onto each side of the coil. This is a huge pro for me personally, but also a subjective one for others. The reservoir section at the bottom of the deck is quite accommodating so you can fit a fair amount of e-liquid in.

Focus On www.ave40.com For More Vape Tank.

Performance

The various builds I put the WASP RDA ranged from simple spaced micro coils to claptons. Given the small chamber of the RDA, I honestly didn’t find too much difference in the various coil builds. I found that a simple 24 gauge spaced Ti coil performed just as well as the others. This was a 2mm diameter coil, it fit perfectly and came in at 0.36 ohms. I ran this in TC mode on the Target mini and it ran flawlessly.

The flavor from this build was great, very condensed flavor and the vapor production was excellent for such a little atty. Running the Wasp RDA on fully open airflow provides a very satisfying vaping experience. Depending on where you have the airflow, it can get a little whistly. I found the sweet spot for me was fully open or just a hair closed.

With the airflow wide open, I had a dense warm vape. It wasn’t too hot and the top cap doesn’t heat up – probably aided by the Ultem material which doesn’t carry heat. The top cap is comfortable on your lips, however, it will also fit an additional 510 drip tip of your choice if you want to add to the length. With the airflow backed off, you get a reasonably restricted lung hit definitely not suitable for MTL style vaping though.

Oumier Wasp Nano RDA Review

I found the Wasp RDA to fit well on all the mods I tried it on and it didn’t leave any gaps at all. As I mentioned earlier I was especially excited to use this RDA with my Target mini, to have a very small stealth RDA setup. I can say that I am extremely happy with this setup and it does exactly what I need it to do whilst maintaining a very small form factor. For such a small setup it is a very satisfying vape experience and entirely easy to carry around. No matter what mod you put the Wasp RDA on, the total size will be reduced making it very pocket-friendly.

I didn’t get any ohm jumping or false readings on any of the mods I tried with the Wasp RDA. I wasn’t able to try the squonk pin, as I have lent out my squonk mods. I don’t foresee this to have any issues though as this is a sold performing RDA.

Specifications

  • Size: 22.5mm x 22mm
  • PEI Top Cap
  • Single Coil Deck

Pros

  • Small & Compact
  • Great Flavor
  • Squonk Ability

Cons

  • Hard to find any!

Wrap Up

The Wasp Nano RDA from Oumier is a stand out little performer for an authentic RDA. Given the price point and the ease of use versus the performance it puts out, I would highly recommend this RDA to anyone who is interested in trying it out. It packs a big punch for such a little unit, so don’t be fooled by the small size factor. It puts out in both the flavor and the vapor department. It is easy to build on and forgiving with wicking.

The build quality is superior and looks like it will hold up over time. Again, I have no hesitation in recommending you add the Wasp Nano RDA by Oumier to your arsenal.
